Happiness loves Misery

What you have doesn’t always matter as much as how it stacks up against what others have. Buying the most expensive house on the block may but be savvy investing, but it will make you feel you were doing better in life than if it were surrounded by mansions.

On the other hand, happiness plummets if you compare your lot to what you think you should have or you could have had. Take the Olympic athletes. Bronze medal winners, it turns out, feel more satisfied than silver medallists. Why? The second place finishers, researchers believe, stew over how they just missed the gold, whereas those who placed third marvel at how close they came to not winning anything at all. Understandable, but not very sensible. And those athletes know what they want which, it turns out, many of us often don’t.

Born Happy

Whether you are happy most of the time or generally miserable, you can thank your parents. It seems our “pleasure potential” if we were positive and outgoing or negative and inhibited is inherited. But keep in mind that what is wired in our brains is only a potential. You are not fated to a certain degree of happiness, no more, no less. Medications, cognitive therapy, and possibly meditation and exercise can change brain circuitry and lift spirits. What is more, though you tend to go up and down around your pleasure potential set point, you can make choices that keep you at the top of your range instead of at the middle or bottom. Experts commonly estimate that about 50 percent of happiness is related to your genetic lot, but that still leaves a lot of the balls in our court.

Born happy and be glad.

Possible Spasm

People usually get spasm after strenuous activity. Chances are your arms and legs are tired if you experienced any of these:

a. You drove through an hour of traffic sans power steering.

b. Your job required a lot of moving of the arms as well as prolonged standing.

c. You just walked up and down supermarket aisles then lugged home heavy grocery bags.

It is good idea to rest your arms and prop up your legs for about 15 minutes before washing or taking a shower. An alternative is using sanitizing gel to clean your hands. If none of the above situations applies to you, then by all means, do what you’ve always done.

Parenting

Kids today spend more time with just their mothers at home. Fathers do not live with them (working out of town, an OFW) or are simply not as accessible. Many see fathers as absolute authority but don’t share strong relationships with him. Mothers go to more lengths at interacting and communicating with their children.

Vast changes in the social environment have made many parents recognize the need to re –think parenting styles, or spend more time with their kids. They want to be seen more as friend than authority figure. Most of us spend time with their mothers in the home but fathers are not to be left out either. Females tend to maintain a close personal relationship with their fathers.

There are more and stronger “outside influences.” Fathers and mothers are still the most admired individuals.

Not all is rosy inside the home. Money has a great influence on satisfaction with life.

Family life is not deemed as vibrant as that of the upper class. It is significantly grounded on money issues.

Financial uses surface as the country’s most pressing problem. But it should not be the case. Whatever you are in this universe, family should always be a one and happy.

Make unique gifts

Preschoolers can participate in packing giveaways. Have them draw designs on plain paper bags. They can fill up the bags with goodies to distribute in orphanages or to children begging in the street.

Visit homes for abandoned children. Take photographs or a video so the children will have a memory of seeing the joy of others receiving a gift.

Allow them to help bake cookies to serve visiting friends and relatives. Have them experience the actual act of serving guests. To ensure that they will do so with success that is, no spills – prior practice is necessary.

Let them prepare a finger painting for Mom, Dad or their siblings. This gives them a unique way to express wishes, complete with a big hug and kiss for everyone.

Children on their different age opt for bigger projects. Not only will they prepare goodie bags, they will want to be involved in distribution. Make them classify the gift packs according to age to enable them to pick appropriate ones for street children.

Help them think of gifts for other family members. Certainly gifts may be purchased, but they can also take the form of services. For Dad, why not a certificate entitling him to have his shoes polished or his car washed. Sibling may offer to take on each other’s chores, clean up …

Opting to adopt

Adoption establishes a relationship of paternity where none existed before and the adopted becomes compulsory heir of the adopter.

It may not be clear for whose benefit adoption was practiced in the past. The trend now is to give it a social and moral purpose, to ensure that persons not blessed with love, care and support of family are provided with one.

Only a person of age and will full civil capacity and legal rights who can support and care for his children, legitimate or illegitimate, is allowed to adopt.

Since family harmony should be preserved, a couple must jointly adopt, except when one spouse seeks to adopt his illegitimate child of the other. The couple should exercise joint parental authority, regardless of whether they adopt jointly or individually.

Once the adoption becomes legal, the adopted shall be deemed the legitimate child of the adopters and both acquire reciprocal rights and obligations of parent and child, including the child’s right to use the surname of the adopters.

If the adopted is a minor at time of rescission or is physically or mentally handicapped the court shall reinstate authority of the natural parents, unless disqualified or incapacitated, in which case the court appoints a guardian.

Skin, senses, and immunity

Have you ever lost hair after many days of working overtime? Not surprising. Hair loss is another physical manifestation of stress. With a decrease in the supply of blood flowing to the hair roots, it’s as if there’s not enough fertilizer to grow hair.

For some, the effect is seen on the skin they get ugly rashes or horrible bumps that look like extra large insect bites. Histamine is release during periods of stress, resulting in allergies, including asthma.

The senses are affected too. Sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch are all blunted when one is drowning in stress. Decreased sensitivity should be a good enough reason not to drive when you’re dead tired.

Your immune system is also weakened by stress. Very understandable the things that we neglect when we are busy and overcommitted-eating well, getting enough sleep-are the things that help keep up our body’s resistance to infection.

Being fit for life… Beyond genius

All infant area already champions in their own right. But did you know that you can help your children become fitter champions with the stamina needed to cope with the challenges of life?

Bringing up a fitter champion starts from the womb. Many women do not realize that their baby is what they eat. A woman who is healthy and fit before and during her pregnancy is more likely to bear a normal and healthy baby. Babies are grow most rapidly during their first year of life that is why their food, which is mostly milk, must contain sufficient amount of the required nutrients needed to support their rapid growth and development and help develop and strengthen their still immature immune system.

Aside from being active and protected from a host of illness, a fitter child has a greater capacity for learning at school and at home because they are more mentally alert and more able to concentrate and focus on activities and tasks on hand. Fitter children are more eager to get involved in play activities, games and sports. They tend to be more sociable and emotionally adjusted.

Indeed, fitter champions can be made with the right combination of proper nutrition, sufficient exercise, and loving care. Nutrition definitely plays an important role in building a solid foundation for …

Bag for life

Mom friendly

It’s a great way to have a job without worrying too much about schedules. It fits into our life styles perfectly because it could be able to do the production from our own homes thus giving us more time to spend with our families.

Money- friendly

Did we mention that it also in it for the money? Yes, it is a good source of revenue for all three of us even if we each also have other sources of income.

Necessary qualities

As a bag maker, you’ll need creativity. You always have to be one step ahead when it comes to trends and fashion. We would like to think of ourselves as trendsetters.

Current hits

For now the in demand are the wooden handles. It seems a lot of people love this style, mixing fabric with wooden handles. There are also oriental bags, mostly patchwork which wont’ go out of vogue for some time.

Style

There should always be an element that makes different. Like camouflage is normal but put that sequined fuchsia flower. It’s kind of a weird combination, but it makes it different. It’s camouflage but you can use it at night.

A New You

Beauty magazines, yes, we see them everywhere we go. But many of these fashion magazines are geared towards the modernity of our times, with different complexions and types of beauty. So how can an individual enhance her beauty? Check these out:

1. Appreciate who you are. The starting point really is to accept and appreciate what you have. Your dusky beauty and almond shaped eyes are gifts and should be treated with gratefulness, not with regret.

2. Don’t try to counteract your natural skin tone. Instead of using foundations and powder mainly in pink shades, which counteract our natural skin tone, use yellow shaded facial products. They create a modern look and do not make our skin more yellow.

3. Highlight almond shaped eyes. Use natural shades of eye shadow for daytime work. For going out at night, try brighter shades such as coral, orange or light grey.

4. Use eyeliner pencil, too. This is an important makeup tool. If you want to emphasize your eyes, draw the line past the outer corner of the eye and blend it upwards. If you want to downplay the exotic look, gradually thicken the eye line as you work towards the outer corner and stop just past the end.

Remember that beauty speaks more in the inner self rather than the outer looks. Also …
